Xavi Not Agree If Barca Intend to Release The Boys Who Had Been Going
Xavi Hernandez was questioned about Barcelona’s idea of repatriating Hector Bellerin. The Blaugrana legendary player firmly declared disagree.
Bellerin left Barca academy in 2011 ago at the age of 16 years. He then signed his first professional contract with Arsenal and strengthened the London team until now.
There was news that Barca attempt to repatriate the 22-year-old player this summer. Barca had trouble getting replacement Dani Alves in that position, who went last summer.
Luis Enrique converted Sergi Roberto to fill the post, but the player was less able to perform consistently. But in the end, Barca chose not to repatriate Bellerin.
The Catalan team decided to divert the target to right-back Benfica Nelson Semedo. The current deal has been reached with the transfer value reportedly at 35 million euros for the 23-year-old defender.
Barca midfield ex Xavi Hernandez is undoubtedly delighted with the management’s decision not to repatriate Bellerin. Because he does not agree with the idea of taking home the junior players who choose to leave the club, including Jordi Mboula and Eric Garcia who went this summer.
18-year-old Mboula joined AS Monaco, while Garcia moved to Manchester City at the age of just 16.
“I will never recruit a player who has left Barca I have not seen him (Bellerin) play very often, but I will say one thing: it will be hard for me to recruit players we already have,” Xavi told Sport.
“I do not want to participate in the recruiting of players who have been away.At age 16 or 17, why are they leaving? I see it as confusing and I do not understand, it amazes me what they do, like Mboula and Eric Garcia.”
“I will not bring them back in the future. That is my philosophy: You were here, you want to go, and now you do not come back,” he added.
